All pricing and transactions on this website are stated in Australian Dollars (AUD).

Donations can be made in the form of one-off donations, regular donations, or bequests. The Social Flourishing Institute (SFI) will determine how funds are allocated within its support services. While we endeavor to direct designated donations to specific projects, SFI reserves the right to allocate funds where they are most needed within our mission. In-kind donations of services, equipment, or other materials will be distributed as determined by SFI.

SFI provides official receipts for approved donations of $2.00 or more. Single-gift donors receive a receipt for each donation, while regular donors receive receipts according to their selected schedule (e.g., monthly donations generate monthly receipts). While we accept anonymous donations, we cannot issue tax-deductible receipts for anonymous contributions.

Our website uses a secure donation server for online transactions. However, please be aware that there are inherent risks in transferring information over the internet.

1.       In this Privacy Policy (Policy), the terms "SFI", "we", "us" or "our" refer to Centre for Building Better Community Ltd (ABN 15 628 753 088).  
 
 

2.       We are committed to protecting personal information we collect from you in accordance with all legal requirements, including but not limited to the Australian Privacy Principles (APP) and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act). 
 
 

3.       We collect personal information that is necessary for us to perform and provide our services as a not-for-profit organisation, to develop and promote our services and to assist us with complying with all applicable legal and regulatory obligations and to operate our charity generally. 
 The types of personal information we may collect include your: name, date of birth, address, occupation, email address, social media address, personal identification, financial information, cookies (see section 9), and/or IP addresses.
 We may supplement the personal information that you provide with other information that we obtain from our dealings with you or from third parties in providing our services. It may be necessary in some circumstances in order to provide our services for us to collect sensitive information about you. 
 Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information about things such as an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or health information. Sensitive information will be used by us only for the primary purpose for which it was obtained, for a secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose, with your consent and/or where required or authorised by law. 
 
 

4.       We collect your personal information:(a) when you visit our website;(b) when you visit one of our social media sites (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram etc.); and(c) when you correspond or communicate with us including over the telephone, or in any other manner such as in person or by letter, facsimile or email at any time. Sometimes we may have access to and use personal data of individuals with whom we do not have any direct contact. In such circumstances, it may not be appropriate for us to provide the individuals concerned with a privacy notice that sets out how we use their personal data, as doing so may breach confidentiality. Nevertheless, we handle such personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, and subject to confidentiality. 
 
 

5.       We will primarily use or disclose (or both) any collected personal information:(a) to provide our services including undertaking any transaction or providing services;(b) to respond to a request or communicate with you (or both) including to provide services, to inform you of events we are holding and to provide you with information;(c) for record keeping purposes;(d) for administrative purposes;(e) to improve the quality of our service;(f) for market research and the marketing of our services;(g) for any events that we host that you attend;(h) to track activity on our website or on social media; and/or(i) for job applicants, to consider making offers of employment or for employment purposes (or both). 
 Any personal information we collect from employees (including resumes, police checks etc) is dealt with pursuant to the terms of further employment agreement(s). By providing personal information you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information (including any sensitive personal information) for the above purposes. 
 There are some circumstances in which you may provide us with someone else's personal information. Where you do, we will accept that personal information on the basis that you have their authority or consent to provide us with their personal information or that such information has been provided in accordance with law. 
 
 

6.       In order to provide our services to you, we may engage third parties to carry out activities. These third parties may include accountants, financial advisors, or any other persons, from time to time, who CBBC has dealings with. These third parties will have access to information needed to perform their function. By giving your personal information to us, you consent to us disclosing this personal information to third parties for any purpose related to purposes set out in this Policy. Please note that we also must comply with obligations under certain laws, including anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism legislation. Such laws do not permit us to disclose what information we are obliged to disclose or that we have disclosed it. 
 
 

7.       We will use your relevant personal information for the purpose of marketing our services. If you do not want to receive marketing material from us, you may unsubscribe from our mailing lists at any time by contacting us in writing or using the opt out link at the bottom of any of our communications. 
 
 

8.       We may store, process or back up your personal information on servers that are located overseas (including through third party service providers). Your personal information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. When your personal information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify your personal information. However, most of the personal information is, or will be, stored in client files which will be kept by us for a minimum of 7 years. 
 
 

9.       We use "cookies" and other software tools to track your use of our website. Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser in your computer's memory and they are used to record how you navigate our website on each visit. Cookies and other tools that are used in any part of our website will be used for our internal management purposes, including collating statistics regarding website traffic. Most browsers automatically accept cookies and other online tools in common use, but you can usually change your browser to prevent cookies being stored and to reject other tools our site may use. 
 
 

10.   All reasonable steps are taken to ensure all personal information is treated confidentially, kept secure, protected against unauthorised use, interference, loss, modification and is used and/or disclosed for the purpose for which it was collected. We use reasonable physical, technical, and procedural safeguards that comply with relevant legal requirements and industry standards to protect our systems and data. Please be aware that the internet is not a secure environment and when you provide us with information over the internet you do so at your own risk. Please immediately contact us if you are concerned about a potential security issue in your interactions with us. 
 
 

11.   You have the right to access and review your personal information held by us, subject to exceptions provided by law, including our obligations to preserve information. If you wish to access your personal information, please contact us in writing. CBBC will not charge any fee for your access request. In order to protect your personal information we may require identification from you before releasing the requested information. 
 
 

12.   Should you wish to contact us regarding this Privacy Policy, or complaints about the use of your personal information, please contact the Board of Directors at info@socialflourishing.com.au We will acknowledge your complaint and respond to your complaint within a reasonable period of time. If you think that we have failed to resolve the complaint satisfactorily, we will provide you with information about further steps you can take.

The Social Flourishing Institute (SFI) accepts all donations in good faith. While we understand that everyone has different preferences regarding donations, we will not refund a donation or event ticket purchase that has been knowingly and voluntarily given to us.

Once you have donated to SFI, we cannot give refunds if you change your mind. For this reason, we ask that you make your decision to donate carefully.

We will consider refunds in the following circumstances:
